
South Shore Support Coordinator - Carrie Schell

Carrie Schell has been a licensed, practicing midwife for nearly twenty years delivering primary health care to woman and their families. During this time, Carrie served for four years as the President of the Association of Nova Scotia Midwives, the regulating body for the profession within the province.
Carrie has been a selected member on numerous federal and provincial Department of Health working groups developing and implementing strategies for policy and planning in the area of maternal and newborn care and primary care renewal.
Carrie recently completed her graduate studies in Health Services Administration at Dalhousie University, Halifax, complementing her years in experience in the field.
Executive Director of the Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation, board member of the Annapolis Valley Community Health Board and executive member of the Annapolis Valley District Health Authority Collaborative Care Working Group, are but a few of the organizations Carrie lends her expertise and commitment to primary health care.
Committed to active~healthy living, Carrie is a strong advocate of community health and wellness as evidenced through her work as Founder of the Bridgetown Youth Running Club, past-president of the Annapolis Skateboard Association for youth, former Youth Mentor working with youth at risk, and grant writer with Athletics East.
Carrie lives in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia with her husband Stephen and their seven children
